Why I chose to study software engineering:

Given that this is the second submission of this blog post (and one thousandth edit), you would think that finding the words to eloquently explain why I have chosen to study software engineering simple… alas I have still not quite figured out why.

It sounds flippant to say “…because I thought it would be interesting.” and yet that it what I keep coming back to. It’s as good a starting point as any I suppose.

I have been working the past few years in the education sector, which was derailed spectacularly by the pandemic. As such, I found myself in the position of being able to enrol in a coding course and expand my horizons.

I honestly can’t say where this course will take me, but I am excited to wait and see what opportunities come in the future. Whether than be returning to education in a different capacity, I don’t know, but I am excited to learn more about the world of software development and keep my options open in the future.

I also found the quote below, which resonated with me… I do love a good challenge and making life a little more difficult.

“Give a man a program, frustrate him for a day.
Teach a man to program, frustrate him for a lifetime.”
